Recent release from Angelic Pretty. Yet another berry print and its called Wrapping Cherry! I think this print is really cute, I like that they are doing more prints with a bigger scale on the print! The OP looks really cute but I'm always afraid the sleeves will be too small for my arms. The jsk is really cute too. I don't know what colorway I like the most, pink and red has always been a weird combination for me but I still think it works. A cute new print for the Berry lovers. ~
I recently held a lecture about 'How to be Kawaii' and for people who where there and other people here are some links to shops for brands and places to buy second hand along with two cheap full outfits and where to get those items! I will post more detailed information later but for now explore these on your own!
here are some japanese brands that sell kawaii clothes, a bit expensive but check them out!
Long back before I started lolita, I was really into the style fairy-kei and one of my biggest inspirations was Mio aka Pastel Raindrops. Thats why I want to make her my fashion valentine this week. Even though Mio has left the fashion and moved on her old outfit photos still inspire me. I've never seen anyone else coord Lolita items so casually and still make it look amazing and like a whole other fashion style. You can check out her blog, it has lots of nice photos and diy tutorials!
I love these two outfits so much, they look so soft and comfortable! I really want to try and mix lolita skirts with t-shirts and sneakers more. Since I wear pastel fashion most days I leave the house I just love her style of looking both comfortable and stunningly cute at the same time.
Her style is really recognizable, I love to see the different ways she combines the pieces in her closet. I'm going to try to do more fairy-kei in this type of stlye.
Even though she isn't into the pastel fashion any more I still thinks she looks super fabulous in any style. Thank you for being such a huge inspiration to me. I hope you are doing well and keep being creative.
A couple of weeks ago I made this music themed outfit for the LCC theme challenge. I Love Fancy Melody, it looks so fancy. I have both the matching socks and the hat. I don't always wear full sets even when I have them but since they are in the theme I went for that.
When I'm deciding an outfit I usually lay it out on my bed, its good way of getting a feel of what goes with it. It's really fun and it's easier to change around than if you put all on to try.
The fun thing with being in a fashion for a long time that you have so much fun accessories and stuff to match with. You can never have to many accessories.
I decided I wanted to wear my own hair, its getting really fun to style it since its been getting longer. I don't have anything in that color on my outfit but at least I have nails that match my hair. Though I really like the contrast since my whole outfit is light pink, having pink hair with it would just make it too much.
I made a vlog with LovelyLor! I was just going to upload it to my vlog channel but I really liked it so put it on my main one. I hope you like it! I loved hanging out with Lor, she is a really nice person.
This week my fashion valentine is my dear friend Ophelia. I really love her aesthetic, even in different styles you can still see the inspiration of a creepy young girl from the past. I find her really creative and now she has made a music album that reflects her fashion aesthetic, you can listen to it here. And for more of her outfits follow her on tumblr.
I think she has perfectly mastered old school lolita. I think her approach of it makes it really look like the old street snaps from Harajuku bridge sundays. The hairstyling is perfect for it, the style of photos suits it perfectly. I feel like she nails the imperfect qualities that lolita fashion had from the start of the style. Now most outfits look more cookie cutter. She rocks gothic but also looks super pretty in her more classic and sweet outfits.
She also does outfits that are more on the straight out ghostly creepy. To the left we see her as a creepy schoolgirl with shironuri, Ophelia looks really cute but there is still something unsettling about it in the best of ways. I also really love her guro lolita to the right above. Its bloody but not too much. A lot of lolitas go overboard with guro lolita but this looks really pretty.
Ophelia also has her more soft girly outfits that are just lovely. As I said before I really love her aesthetic and can't wait to see more outfits from her. I hope we can meet again one day.
I'm happy to say that I will be holding a lecture about j-fashion at ConFusion! I'm hoping to give some practical advice to make it feel easy to start with j-fashion, its for anyone! I might try and post some things from the lecture here on my blog later.
I will also be selling handmade things in the artist alley. Like my rosettes and other cute things, please come there and say hi to me! Maybe we can take a picture together? <3
Angelic Pretty has now released Eternal Carnival! This one was one of the ones I've been really looking forward to. The print is really delicate, you have to look close to see all the details. I know some carnival print enthusiasts that will be quite exited about this! I love the little moons and roses. The colorways are really pretty, my first pick would be pink actually because I love how it contrasts to the blue in the print. to me Ivory always feels kinda boring, but I don't like coording with white at all in lolita anymore.
The OP has a bit of a 'grandma collar' going on, I know some people can rock it but its not really for me. The jsk cut above is a bit shorter than the other versions so I think if you are a tall girl avoid it but if you are on the shorter side it might be perfect for you. The jsk cut below looks really cute, the detailed bodice looks nice and full back shirring is always super comfortable. I usually don't like overlays that much, but the way the lace lays over the print looks really neat and there is always the option of wearing the dress without it which makes it more versatile. All the cuts would of been cuter with maybe a bit more trim on the bottom but since the print is pretty busy it still works.
I love this new print and hope I can buy it someday.
Angelic Pretty is yet again doing a rerelease of Misty Sky, probably since its still going for ridiculous prices on the second hand market so obviously there is a high demand. I really like the dress but I don't get why so many people are obsessed with it. I love the blue colorway, if I were to get it I would buy the blue jsk. Its a dress with clouds on it. Not much more to say about it.
Angelic Pretty just recently released Jewel Marine, I love that its not a boarder print because it allows them to make much more interesting cuts. Even though I much prefer to have jsk's I must say that the OP is the prettiest cut of this dress. With the jsk one has the pretty shell like bodice part and the other has the pretty frilly bottom. The OP kinda gives you both and even better made!
Since it is a marine theme dress I would probably go with the light blue because of the theme coording possibilities. I don't really like the navy one, but I dislike dark colorways with super light prints. I can't wait to see people coord this, too bad they probably wont get it home by the under the sea event.
