Angelic Pretty has released a bunch of new winter coats. There are many different styles of lolita winter coats. A lot depends on what cut of dresses you prefer.
I think the Milky Dream coat is really cute. I'm a big fan of scallops, its super cute but not too much details on it. The waist is pretty high but it should suit most basic AP dresses.
While the Victoria coat has nice fabric the cut is a bit off I think. Having the length just be slightly shorter than the dress makes it look like its too small and doesn't fit right. I think it could work with more casual shorter dresses but I don't think its worth the high price for that.
The Bear coat is cute and the cut works great if you want it to be more form fitting. Though think about that it wont look good with high waist dresses. These long coats really need a good petticoat under to look good. Otherwise they can look kinda floppy. This also comes in a pink colorway that is adorable.
The coat to the right is really cute and would work with various dress styles. It comes in a gorgeous antique pink colorway with white faux fur. The only thing that could be a problem is that its probably a very heavy coat to wear and also I think its kinda boring that it covers the whole dress. If you hang out with your lolita friends outside it can feel like you are wearing the same thing all the time.
The Bunny poncho coat is cute but I think its really personal preference if you like that type of coat or not. On the plus side it wont feel tight or uncomfortable!
The Classic coat is really not my style it comes in two shades of brown, red, white and black. I just don't like it to be honest.
These two coats are really more my style. I like the shorter coats because they show of your dress and are not as heavy as the longer coats. Both of these are really adorable and I would generally recommend this type of coat.
It's really nice having a warm coat that fits well over your lolita clothes. It's really cold here so I'm happy I have my lavender bunny coat to wear this winter.
New upcoming Angelic Pretty print, its very romantic and sweet. Its different and has interesting colorways. Each colorway really has a different feel which is absolutely a good thing! Again still not a fan of overlays and this one is way too white. It makes the dress unbalanced.
My favorite colorway is the pink one (well of course, haha) and since the overlay is meh I like the jsk a lot more. I think the blue and red colorway could make really interesting coords though so look forward to seeing that.
Sorry for not posting much I'm trying to get back at it but I've had a down period lately. Know that I'm trying my best and I will come back. <3
This weeks fashion valentine is the adorable Kate Davis! I've admired her fashion sense for a long time and I love seeing her new outfits. Kate is a fashionista and catlover from the US. She is an amazing lolita but she also dresses in many other styles like Otome and Larme kei. I think she brings her own style and aesthetic into any style she wears. Be sure to follow her on instagram!
Since as you all know I'm a huge fan of ott sweet lolita I wanted to start there. I just love the ott sweet coord Kate made with wrapping heart (I want that dress so much!!). All the hair ribbons just go perfectly with the style of the dress and coording it with lavender looks just adorable. I want this whole outfit. I love the look on the right because she just looks like a fairytale princess. Matching gold with that dress actually works really well and the light type of gold color is balanced out by her lovely hair.
I love that she does these retro inspired looks, it suits her so well. The popcorn inspired outfit is both fun and adorable. The milkshake printed top and skirt are so whimsy and cute, it looks both retro and modern on trend at the same time. Love it!
The sweet pale pink pastels and white she uses for her larme kei type outfits look so dreamy. It looks so soft and pretty. I love that she does the outfit pictures with some balloons on the floor and on the right her adorable fluffy cat also wants to join. Her photos are really nice.
Even though this is a pretty simple coord it still looks so perfect. The bunny bag works extra well since the color matches her hair. She styles her hair so nicely and I love her makeup. Another soft and dreamy outfit.
I love that Kate can adapt to any style she wants to. She has always been a pro at staying with the modern trends coming up while still keeping her own personal style. She makes anything she wears look gorgeous. Kate is a very kind and supportive friend and a huge inspiration to me. Keep being awesome and I look forward to seeing more outfits from you.
New hot mess coming to you in time for Halloween, Having mixed feeling about Royal Princess Alice's new print Sweet Monster Castle. It's too bad when prints get a bit to seasonal, limiting when it feels appropriate to wear it. For example my lavender Candy Treat jsk from Angelic Pretty looks great for Halloween coords but I can wear it for the rest of the year also. I think this would of been better if they just skipped the boarder print and went with the simple style of the rest of the print. They don't seem to go together at all anyways.
The cuts are as always from RPA boring and very meh. The font picked for the print name is so bad I don't even know what to say. Why not just use comic sans while you are at it? And I really understand why people are tired of crosses on everything and this time of the year its just going to get worse.
The front part of the collar is fine but the back part goes way to far down for being that plain. Shorten it or put a design on there! As always there is a lack of trim around the bottom of the skirt part.
These tights don't make sense, why place the boarder print over the top? Why not just go with the cute simple style here too. Who's going to see it? Why did you bother? So many questions...
After a few months break fashion valentines is now back! This weeks fashion valentine is the lovely Tori. A pretty well dressed lolita from the US. I love that her outfits always feel so perfectly balanced, both with colors and with having just the right amount of accessories for a cohesive look. Her outfits never feel like its 'too much' but not at all plain either. Be sure to go follow her on instagram and tumblr!
I love how she picks up the gold details of the print, more complementing the print than distracting from it. This looks like it is both perfectly dressed up but still comfy enough to just go into town shopping. Matching the shoes with the bag always looks great but having the cardigan and cute bow on the blouse really works!
Tori really looks like and angel in this cute but more classic look. The headdress is so pretty, I love the little details hanging down over her fringe. The hair is big but not overtaking like some rhapsody wigs can be.
I feel like this deep blue color suits her perfectly, I love the hairstyling on the left picture. It really completes the look. Her makeup is always really cute too. It's nice that she takes the time to get really nice photos of her outfits, there are so many girls that dress amazing but never get any outfit pictures.
Her outfits always feel like a complete set, nothing looks out of place. I love wrapping ribbon, and she coorded it so cute here. And I love the bag that she has on the right picture, every colorway of the bag all look amazing. (I want one too!!)
Tori always looks on point and her style inspires me because I want to make my looks as cohesive as hers. I often have problems getting the right balance on my ott sweet looks. Tori you look amazing and keep doing what you are doing. I look forward to seeing more of your outfits.
Recently I wore my new Infanta dress that I got from Devilinspired! Its a really cute berry print that is cute enough to compete with Angelic Pretty prints! The fabric and details are a bit lower quality than AP but still looks really nice and the pricetag is also considerably lower. I picked the yellow colorway since I want more things in this color and though I could make some really cute coords with it. In this outfit I matched it with a yellow Metamorphose blouse, my yellow honey cake headbow and cute yellow folded socks from swimmer. To match with the red in the print I have some red hair accessories that I made, a red ring and red shoes from Angelic Pretty. I added the waist ties from my red sweet ribbon strawberry dress as a big bow on my blouse. I love using waist ties from other dresses! The strawberry bag from Angelic Pretty I feel just went with the theme!
I really love the strawberry jar, dessert and basket. Its just a really good print design. Another bright side of this brand is that it comes in several sizes! I'm wearing it in size M and its super comfortable. I was just around town with my friend Gabriel getting some crafts materials and I also ordered new glasses, look forward to getting them!
Angelic Pretty is now releasing Magic Amulet! I think its cute and pretty different from most AP prints. I feel like its just coming out in time for Halloween, I like the creepy cute look of it. Though the colorways are dreadful, I love the lavender but the other two look just really off. I think a black, white and maybe pink colorway would of worked better. The OP is really pretty, I think it works well with the style of the print. I still don't like overlays and the lacing looks cheap too. The other jsk is better but I don't really like the cross on the front of it.
