They have done it again! Royal Princess Alice continues to abuse absolutely fantastic prints by putting them on totally mediocre dress cuts. The new one is called Magic Girl Perfume Pot. I'm just so confused by the easily fixed fails.
First let me just say that the print really is fantastic, both colorways are perfect for it too. The perfume bottles look so magical and sparkly. This could of been such a nice dress which just makes it so much more disappointing when they fall short. So lets go on with picking apart the failings of RPA.
Lets start with the jsk, I mean its not horrible but the shape is just off. the skirt part is a bit too long. its nice with trim in the bottom but the frills they added look a bit out of place with this dress, like its a underskirt added instead of part of the dress. I think a shorter lace would of looked a lot better and some detailing on the skirt to connect them better. I have no idea why they keep trying to add the big sheer ribbons on everything since they cant make them look nice. It should of been layered and the middle part is too think so it just looks wonky. If the bow was actually done right then it could of looked nice with the dress at least.
Then on the OP we are back to no bottom trim at all which just makes it look kinda cheap. The sleeves don't have any details either, I wish there was a bow, cute buttons, some lace or trim? something? The bows in the front just look really sad, please learn how to make cute bows. I don't get the style of ruffle on the bodice and it just looks weird that it continues down the back of the dress.
In conclusion: why do you do this to me? I just want you to succeed because you have such pretty prints. I'm just wishing for better in the future.
