Lemon Honey: Summer Parfait

Summer Parfait - Lemon Honey sweet lolita print dress

I wanted to share some dresses that are not from Angelic Pretty so here's the super cute print series Summer Parfait from the brand Lemon Honey. This lovely dress comes as both an OP and a JSK. Lemon Honey is a Chinese brand that sells their clothes on taobao. The make a lot of really cute prints!

Summer Parfait - Lemon Honey

This dress has a really cute border print with a dessert drink theme. The drinks reminds me of really cute ones you can get at some Japanese themed cafés. The art style looks a bit like watercolor and has a lot of details. I like that the print has a kind of scalloped design, you can see it much more clearly on the navy colorway. But the effect is lost by the print not being perfectly aligned with the bottom of the dress. This not being as visual on the blue colorway also makes the misalignment less obvious. Considering the price I think the pattern not being perfect is acceptable to be honest. The scalloped lace trim is really nice, it makes a nice edge of the dress before the frilled longer trim.

The OP has half shirring and the jsk has full shirring, looks really comfortable! They also come in different size options making them fit a wide range of sizes. I think both colorways are really cute, the blue one is more pastel, but the navy has a brighter print with the contrast. I would really recommend this brand if you are looking for really cute original prints for a lower price and with more sizing options. They release a lot of really pretty print series.

Thanks for reading! Let me know if you would like me to feature more different brands on my blog.

Angelic Pretty: Little Witch

little witch angelic pretty print series release dress

I really like Angelic Pretty's Little Witch print series. It's super cute and I really like the illustration style. I kinda really want this one.

I really love the pink colorway with the lavender ribbons, it's just such a perfect colour combo. I really like the scalloped neckline on the jsk, I always love scallop. More scallops please. It would of been really cute with scallops at the bottom of the dress and then maybe lace matching the contrasting ribbons. The neckline of the jsk is the same as the OP's neckline but without the faux blouse. I do not at all like the long tulle bottom of the cutsew dress, it just makes it look really cheap.

The style of the illustrations feels very graphic and clean. I think the yellow and mint in the print allows for really fun outfits! Though the specific shade of mint can be a bit tricky. The black version could easily be coordinated with pink, lavender, mint or yellow.

I wish they would of made the cat jewelry came in pastel colours also. Why are they all black? It's not like there is any black in the print even. I also would of prefered silver instead of gold and a plastic finding for the ring.

I don't like the red colorway at all. I feel like they really should of changed the colors of the print itself to make it go better with the red. The print colors are pastel but then they put the black ribbons on it and it's like why though? I do not understand why they made the jsk come as a set with a armband, with the other colors it's already pretty meh. But with the red armband it becomes just very unfortunate. Bright red armband worn on the upper arm, really AP? This aint it chief. If you bought this dress or want it I have a super easy fix for you friend, just don't wear it with the armband. I'm not implying anything about whoever designed it, I mostly find it unfortunate.

Angelic Pretty x Wish me mell: Whip Cream Princess

Whip Cream Princess Angelic Pretty Wish Me Mell print series release

Another Angelic Pretty x Wish Me Mell Collaboration! They have made several collaborations before and it's usually really cute prints. I think their aesthetic goes well together.

I think this print is cute but some things I find kinda lazy. The pattern style is a pretty basic one-directional cameo layout. There are six different motifs but only two different frames and even the two different ones are very similar still. Between the cameo motifs is a really simple pattern with the same rose between every just in different colors. This print is way less effort than most of the prints Angelic Pretty makes. It's not about how simple the print is, its that the print reuses the same image a lot which is simply less work to do. I'm not sure about the trim that is made to look like whipped cream, I would have to see it in person or better images to know what I think. It looks pretty good on the collar of the OP though I wish the collar was rounded instead of the sharp corner. The waist ribbon is pretty cute, pretty basic cuts but it works with the design.

The print comes in three colorways; pink, lavender and mint. The print has the exact same colors on all colorways, usually Angelic Pretty will change them a bit to go with each colorway better. The Print has blue, lavender, pink and yellow. This should make it really easy to make nice coordinates with this dress. The shades of these colors are pretty typical so there should be lots of options.

It's a cute dress but I think it's just a bit lazy in some places. I think I like their previous collab print more than this one.

Angelic Pretty: Girly Sticker

Girly Sticker Angelic Pretty Print Release

Angelic Pretty's print series Girly Sticker is pretty different in style from their usual style, it seems like it wasn't very popular since its on sale right now.

The print is a non-directional all over pattern with designs that are designed to look like glittery stickers.  I think the stickers in the print would be nice as actual stickers but I'm not sure about this one chief... The style of the illustrations makes me think of claires or similar brands that are targeted towards kids. I do not like the bottom lace that they used on ALL the cuts. I think a shorter lace with a proper edge would of looked a lot better.

All colorways have a pretty dark navy color in the print which could make for really cool coordinates if you match the dress with maybe a navy blouse or navy accessories in the same shade. If you can match the colors in the print I think you could make some really cool outfits but it's kinda tricky because these are not super common shades.

The OP makes the print feel really messy since it covers so much of the outfit, which would make a jsk better, but the jsk looks kinda cheap. The model is really simple and the bottom lace looks sooo bad. I know I mentioned it already but really... on the salopette its at least doubled up in two layers which is a bit of an improvement. I like the pastel colorways, they would be cute as a casual skirt with different bottom lace.

The black colorway manages to not look too pale like many of their prints do on black but instead it looks really messy. I don't really know what they were thinking with this coordinate with the black op, black and white stripe socks and pale pink shoes. There isn't even really a pale pink shade in the print. I think it would of looked a lot better with pastel colored socks and either deep pink or black shoes. I think maybe the jsk could look better since you wouldn't have the print on the arms also.

The best things related to this series is the milky bear ring and necklace, though I wish the ring has a plastic ring finding instead of the metal one. Oh well, the best piece is the necklace. Look forward to seeing some creative outfits with this one at least.

Angelic Pretty: Moco Moco Bunnys

Moco Moco Bunnys Angelic Pretty Print Release

Today's post is about Angelic Pretty's new print series Moco Moco Bunnys, that will be released on saturday this weekend. The print is really cute but it has the same issue with the textile that I talked about in my previous post about Toys Museum. The slight transparency of the fabric makes the print more dull than it would be on an opaque textile. The print again has a plain background and is in quite large scale. The pattern is a non directional allover pattern, I feel like its almost too large in scale, it would look nicer if it was a bit smaller but that might be an side effect of the print being less clear on this textile.

None of the cuts are anything special though they offer more options for this one. This kind of jsk style is pretty easy to coordinate and I like that the bow by the neckline is in a contrasting color. The folded ribbon style on the jsk and salopette look a lot better than the basic tied silk ribbons on the other cuts. They also have the dot trim at the bottom which at least is a bit different.

The Mint colorway will only be available at the stores in Nagoya and Shibuya sadly. The Mint salopette reminds me of my mint dreamy dollhouse salopette which I would choice over this any day.

Angelic Pretty has a lot of different styles of illustrating bunnies and most of the styles featured in this print design are my least favorite kind. The best one here in my opinion is the cute marshmallow bunny that they used as an applique. I actually do like these sweaters but I think the neckline is a bit high for taste (for comfort reasons) and it's not cute enough for that price. I love small pets and I also love to draw them, I have a pet peeve with bunnies being drawn with two eyes since from almost all angles you only see one eye at a time so it looks kinda off. I get that the illustrations are depicting plush bunnies but I still think these are way less cute than many others Angelic Pretty has designed before. (Should I make a top list of best AP bunnies maybe?)

Angelic Pretty: Toys Museum

Angelic Pretty Toys Museum Print Release

Hello again frilly friends, long time no post! I've been busy but today I bring you a post about Angelic Pretty's recent print dress series release Toys Museum. I miss the pretty collage images that Angelic Pretty would post for all their new releases so I made my own for this one.

Angelic Pretty Toys Museum Print Release

I do really like this print, especially the motifs. The squirrel is adorable, I love all rodents. The toy pony, plush bear and plush bunny are so cute and I want them to be real things I can buy. The print is a one directional allover print in a quite large scale which I think makes it easier to see the pretty illustrations. There is no background pattern which makes the design look pretty clean. It was released in two cuts in pink, black and blue. Later on a lavender jsk was released as a special set.

I think the colorways are cute, I think my favorite is the blue one because I think the gold stands out more from the background. Even though the different colorways have shifted shades to fit the background color I still think the print on black is too pale to stand out properly. It looks a bit faded. The pink and lavender are both cute, i have no big complaints with either of them.

The cuts are not very interesting to be honest. They could do well with a lot more embellishments and details since the flat print background makes it look more simple. Very little lace, just the basic row of lace at the bottom of the dress, the bodice has simple pintucks and a white collar that is removable.

The OP has no shirring which makes it too small for a lot of people and the jsk only has half shirring. On top of that the jsk feels like it would be hard to coordinate since the neckline is so high. It's hard to get blouses to both look nice with and fit comfortable with the cut of the bodice. I'm also not a big fan of the light polyester fabric. I feel like it really dulls the print since its not opaque and I'm not a fan of how it feels to touch. I think this kind of fabric works better for more loose and flowy kinds of cuts. It's a bit of an odd choice since the cuts are very basic. Which is why this dress really should of had more frills.

Even though I like the print this is not a dress I would buy unless completely different cuts would be released in the future. But even then there are a lot more dresses I would rather own.

Thank you for reading! Hopefully I will be posting more soon.
