Lemon Honey: Summer Parfait

 

I wanted to share some dresses that are not from Angelic Pretty so here's the super cute print series Summer Parfait from the brand Lemon Honey. This lovely dress comes as both an OP and a JSK. Lemon Honey is a Chinese brand that sells their clothes on taobao. The make a lot of really cute prints!

This dress has a really cute border print with a dessert drink theme. The drinks reminds me of really cute ones you can get at some Japanese themed cafés. The art style looks a bit like watercolor and has a lot of details. I like that the print has a kind of scalloped design, you can see it much more clearly on the navy colorway. But the effect is lost by the print not being perfectly aligned with the bottom of the dress. This not being as visual on the blue colorway also makes the misalignment less obvious. Considering the price I think the pattern not being perfect is acceptable to be honest. The scalloped lace trim is really nice, it makes a nice edge of the dress before the frilled longer trim. 

The OP has half shirring and the jsk has full shirring, looks really comfortable! They also come in different size options making them fit a wide range of sizes. I think both colorways are really cute, the blue one is more pastel, but the navy has a brighter print with the contrast. I would really recommend this brand if you are looking for really cute original prints for a lower price and with more sizing options. They release a lot of really pretty print series.

Brand Feature: Cat's Broom

What is Cat's Broom?

Cat's Broom is a quirky Taobao brand that has some really fun and playful sweet Lolita prints. Above you see their 'Pig Chef' Print series that features little pigs in chef uniforms, bread, sausage, tomatoes, ice cream cones and other food items! 

 They have a lot of fun and pretty unique prints, I think a lot of them have a bit of a vintage feel that is enhanced by the way they style looks. Their Pizza Print is such a nice idea for a theme, it would be fun to see accessories to match that.

My favorite of their original print series is their 'Sale 50% off' print! This is just such a funny and clever idea for a print and just an adorable print too. I've just loved it since the first time I saw it. You won't need a 50% Sale to afford their dresses though, since they only cost about $50! 

You might be thinking "yeah ok Mint that's interesting, but do they have Angelic Pretty style super sweet prints in a cut that doesn't make me look like a sack?" And the answer to that is yes, indeed they do have those too. If you are a fan of the typical Angelic Pretty style 'The Secret Garden' or 'Bathroom Toy' might be the cheaper indie brand option for you! 

Gnomes. They have a print with Gnomes, with miniature cows and nutcrackers. I have no idea what's going on there but its great. You should definitely have a look at their shop and see what more fun styles they have to offer.

Your Highness: Constellation Gradient

This gorgeous dress called Constellation Gradient is made by taobao brand Your Highness! I love the layered skirt, the style of the dress goes perfectly with the print. This dress would look cute both with a blouse or just as a super cute dress without.

It's too bad that from what I can see this dress had no shirring, which would improve comfort a lot and would not throw off the design since the back is quite simple. Though considering the price tag is only about 50 usd I think its okay, but don't forget to check the measurements. There are several sizes which will help a bit with that too!

It comes in three dark colorways too which look really nice and I think a lot of people would like them! But of course the cute pastel one is the only one for me.

It's an adorable and affordable dress and I definitely recommend checking out Your Highness on taobao!

Brand Feature: Diamond Honey

Lately I've been browsing taobao a lot and wanted to share some of the taobao brands that I love! Starting with a brand called Diamond Honey. This brand has adorable original prints along with some really good blouses and cute tights. Their style is generally pretty sweet but there is still a lot of variation! Both supersweet pastels and more toned down almost otome type dresses. 

The Price is significantly lower than any Japanese lolita brand while still keeping a pretty good quality! Most of their dresses are in the $25-50 range. While they are available for purchase from some overseas online re-sellers, I would recommend buying directly from their own shop since the markup doubles the price. 

Their blouses come in many colors and are the style in the top left corner are very stretchy and comfy too! Definitely a great place to get some more color variation on blouses for a great price! 

They have a bunch of really cute tights, though I wish some of them would have a bit more saturated colors and have other base colors. I think the berry and bat ones are the best since you can see the print on those very clearly!

If you don't like the very sweet look they still have lots more so check them out and look for yourself! It's a lot more than I could show you in one blog post. All in all Diamond Honey is a great budget option for anyone looking for sweet lolita clothes.

Long Ears & Sharp Ears: Hiding in the Gift Box

 I've been looking a lot at different taobao brands and there is so many amazing lolita brands on taobao. This adorable dress comes from Long Ears & Sharp Ears and is called 'Hiding in the Gift Box'. This is such a cute original print series and looks really sweet. So who is hiding in the Gift Box? Little cute kittens and snugly bun buns. Its a quite detailed print and has an adorable art style.

It comes in two different cuts, a jsk and a shorter salopette. The jsk is really cute and looks like it has a really nice shape. I love the fancy gift ribbon on the bodice and that it goes across vertically too on the side like cute gift wrapping. To separate the boarder print and the rest of the print it looks like draped scallops as a curtain which makes the dress look less plain. 

They have some great coordinate photos showing that dress would be great for a ott sweet lolita coord. This outfit is just really adorable. I notices a lot of taobao shops have amazing photoshoots, cant wait to share more of them with you all!

I also just had to show you some of these adorable pictures with this little girl! I'm not sure if this kids size dress is available right now but they had some other lolita dresses in kids size. This is just so cute!

Pumpkin Cat: Lemon Cat

 Wanted to show you all and write about this adorable dress from taobao brand Pumpkin Cat! They make a lot of cute original designs, I previously made a post about a cute gingham dress from them. This adorable series is called 'Lemon Cat'. I just love the print design on this. Both the print and style of the dress is more otome than lolita. Its fun and playful!

The jsk works both on its on or with a blouse under. Which is nice so that you can vary outfits and its nice that you can wear it without in the summer. The belt and Bow is also detachable. The little kittens in the print are so adorable!

 The sailor collar really suits the style of this dress and I think I would love to have this version! Both versions is a pretty simple dress but this is also reflected in the price being quite low. I want to try to talk more about different brands and not just the most expensive ones.

Pumpkin Cat: Gingham Picnic

Found this adorable red gingham dress from the taobao brand Pumpkin Cat. I love red gingham, it looks so summery. The scale of the gingham print is perfect for the dress. It has just enough detailing, not too much but not too plain. The shape of the dress looks really nice and I like that its tiered. The white bottom trim looks really nice since the sleeve ends and collar matches and balances it.

For a brand on the cheaper side of things this dress looks really well made and has some nice details. The strawberry buttons on the bodice and the tiny strawberries on the collar look really sweet too, it adds to the summery feel of the dress. The heart button for the waist ties and heart pockets are really precious. I would love to have this dress, its really nice for a more casual look.

Cheval de Bois: Lemon Garden

Taobao brand Cheval de Bois are releasing this refreshing summer print called 'Lemon Garden'. I like the print, the color scale is really nice with the pale green in it. The design is nice and doesn't feel like a copy of something else. I like both the cuts, the jsk is pretty basic but had some nice details on the bust and a nice white trim on the bottom. The bodice of the OP is really nice. I like the frill and ribbons. If their sleeves has good stretch I think it would be really comfortable. I've been trying to add some more yellow to my closet, I think its a very underrated color in Lolita fashion.

I love the wide selection of headpieces available to match. The bonnet looks adorable but maybe a bit too sweet for this style of dress, but could work with the right coord. The frilly veil is nice and this type of pieces had been more popular lately. I think my favorite is the white more flat hat. It goes best with the aesthetic of this dress.

I like the matching accessories they have for it, I think some people miss having the set like in the Japanese brand releases so its good that its available for people who like to have the cookie cutter set. Some of these are so nice I would want them even if I don't have the dress.

To Alice: Bottle Bears

To Alice made this cute milk and bear themed dress! I like the print, the details are really adorable. Both Colorways look really nice, I often dislike dark colorways with pastel prints but I think it really goes together on this one. It might be that its almost only blue colors. I think they could of done some kind of background in the print, I feel like its lacking something. The cuts are pretty basic, as you all know I think jsk's are more fun to coord but the OP is really cute too for sure!

You might be thinking that I'm going more easy on To Alice compared to my 'Royal Princess Alice' reviews but this dress is only a 4th of the price so it can get away with more. Even so this just looks a lot more put together and finished. I also think their ideas are pretty original and doesn't follow what other brands are releasing currently. A really cute dress for a good price.

Vivian Tears: Afternoon Trend

Taobao brand Vivian Tears have a new dress called Afternoon Trend, I think its pretty cute as a casual dress. The print has a vintage feel that I think goes really well with the Mint colorway. The cuts remind me of the ones for Angelic Pretty's upcoming Baked Sweets Parade but the print is different enough that I don't feel its copying. The cuts work pretty well but I really wished it was better aligned at the bottom, the print just kinda cuts off in the middle of it, it just looks sloppy. I still think its cute, its just such a thing that could of been fixed easily.  

The dress is still cute and after all it is cheaper than an AP dress would be too. The little teapots are really sweet and they seem to have nice lace too. The style of the print is pretty different, I like it! I think this brand has potential and I look forward to seeing more from them.
